+ - How do World of Warcraft bots work?

Submitted by
An anonymous reader writes "I know that many Slashdotters are avid World of Warcraft-fans. One annoyance in this MMORPG is the existance of so called bots, which can grind gold and other valuables completely on its own. Despite Blizzards very limited scripting environment, these bots walk around and seem to be able to perform rather advanced operations. The bots are "illegal" and can cause a ban if discovered, but I can't help wonder — how do they really work?"

Nobody's gonna believe that computers are intelligent until they start coming in late and lying about it.
