crimeandpunishment writes "Yahoo is adding news to its site by buying a popular freelance news site. Yahoo Inc. is purchasing Associated Content for an undisclosed price. Associated Content, which was launched in 2005, utilizes around 380,000 freelancers who provide how-to advice, reviews, and neighborhood news from around the U.S. The site attracted 16 million visitors last month. Yahoo plans to use Associated Content's materials to supplement the more traditional news it gets from newspapers, its own staff, and other sources."
